The Chef Inspirations — Flavors of the World collection from Godiva Chocolatier, Inc. features six globally inspired varieties.

Made with Belgian chocolate, the collection includes Japanese Dark Sugar Ganache with Kuromitsu molasses; Sirop de Liege with Speculoos, traditional Belgian cookies; Chinese-inspired Black Tea Mousse & Sichuana Pepper; Brazilian Coffee Nut Pralines; Honey Roasted Caramel with U.S.-sourced ingredients; and Banana & Caramelized Coconut made with South African produce.

"Our chef chocolatiers have made it possible for chocolate lovers everywhere to embark on an international flavor journey," says Michelle Chin, vice-president of North American marketing. "This collection is another example of our continued commitment to letting our consumers enjoy chocolate in entirely new and unexpected ways."

The collection is available in eight-piece boxes with a SRP of $18, 16-ct packs that retail for $34 and 25-piece boxes with a SRP of $50.


Classic British Candies Have Natural Colors, Flavors

Being launched nationally, Fiona’s Sweetshoppe, Inc. is introducing eight classic confections imported from Britain and made with natural flavors and colors, the company reports.

The line includes licorice allsorts, soft licorice with fondant; fruit-flavored jelly babies; sugar-sprinkled sherbet lemons with fizzy centers; fruity custards featuring tart rhubarb hard candy with fruit-flavored cream centers; fruit wine gums; strawberry bonbons, toffee dusted with strawberry confectioner’s sugar; soft-centered toffee mints; and sugar-sanded cola cubes.

Made without high fructose corn syrup and gluten-free, Fiona’s reports the candies pack in reclosable four-ounce bags with a $2.99 SRP. They ship in 10-ct cases.


Oscar Mayer Enters Jerky Market With Bacon

Made with Oscar Mayer brand meat, Bacon Jerky is being introduced by Kraft Foods Group, Inc.

With 11 grams of protein, the meat snacks come in Bourbon Barbecue and Teriyaki Ginger and contain less than 130 calories, according to Sarah Jones, senior brand manager.

The jerky is merchandised in refrigerated meat cases to build consumer awareness. "Bacon Jerky is shelf-stable, but is kept in the refrigerated meat section next to other Oscar Mayer bacon products," Jones tells Candy & Snack TODAY. "This makes it easier for consumers to find."

Coming in three-ounce pouches with a SRP range of $5.99 to $6.99, they ship 12 per case.


Weight Watchers Extends Brownie Bliss Line

Salted Caramel Brownie Bliss has been added to the Weight Watchers Sweet Baked Goods line from WW Foods, LLC.

Containing 90 calories, the caramel-frosted chocolate brownies have a PointsPlus value of two, the company reports. Further, a survey conducted by Weight Watchers found that three out of four women say they would indulge in a sweet treat if it had fewer than 100 calories.

Six individually wrapped brownies come in 4.4-ounce boxes, which have a SRP of $3.19 and ship in 12-ct cases.
