Organic Popcorn Is GE-Free
USDA certified organic and Non-GMO Project verified popcorn in two varieties joins the line of ready-to-eat snacks from KettlePop.
Containing four or fewer ingredients, no trans fat and naturally gluten free, according to the company, the popcorn is available in Sweet & Salty Organic Kettle Corn and Crunchy & Salty Organic Sea Salt Popcorn.
Coming in five-ounce bags with a SRP range $2.99 to $3.99, they ship in 15-ct cases.
Grab-And-Go Cookie Line Expands
Ginnybakes is extending its ginnymini line of organic and non-GMO bite-size cookies with Coconut Oatmeal Bliss and Double Chocolate Happiness varieties.
The gluten-free cookies are also kosher and made without preservatives or refined sugars, the company claims. The coconut variety features a blend of raisins and rolled oats, while the chocolate cookies are made with cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips.
Boxes holding six, 1.25-ounce snack-size pouches have a SRP of $6.49 and ship six per case.
Scharffen Berger Adds Artisanal Offerings
Featuring complex flavors and made with Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa, Scharffen Berger, a subsidiary of The Hershey Co., is introducing a four-bar line.
Made with a proprietary blend of cocoa beans from nine regions and other premium ingredients, the company reports, the entire line is kosher certified and gluten free. The offerings are 72% cacao signature dark chocolate, 72% cacao dark chocolate with pistachios and sea salt, 33% cacao smooth milk chocolate and 33% cacao milk chocolate with toasted coconut and macadamias.
The three-ounce bars have a SRP of $3.99 and ship four 12-ct displays per case.
In addition, Scharffen Berger reports it has reached its goal of using only Rainforest Alliance cocoa and the certification seal will begin appearing on all the company’s products by this fall.
Larabar Brand Enters Granola Mix Market
Made with fruit, seeds, nuts and containing no grains, the Larabar brand is entering the granola market with ReNola, according to manufacturer General Mills, Inc.
"We saw an opportunity in the marketplace to deliver a grain-free granola that’s not only delicious, but full of whole and simple ingredients," says Julia Wing-Larson, marketing manager for the brand. The gluten-free and non-GMO snack blends come in three varieties and are the company’s first non-snack bar items.
Cinnamon Nut mixes almonds, pecans, cashews, pumpkin and sunflower seeds with raisins, cinnamon and vanilla. Cocoa nibs and toasted cocoanut as well as almonds, pecan, cashews, sunflower and pumpkin seeds are seasoned with coconut oil and cocoa powder in the Cocoa Coconut variety. The Berry blend combines dried blueberries with nuts, cinnamon and molasses.
Coco coconut mixes come in 1.18-ounce pouches; cinnamon nut, in 1.25-ounce packs; and the berry flavor, in 1.28-ounce pouches. All varieties have a SRP of $1.79 and ship in 15-ct cases.
