MoonPies Go Bite Sized
A new spin on the classic snack cake, MoonPie Bites! are a panned combination of graham crackers, marshmallow and chocolate being introduced by Taste of Nature, Inc.
The s'mores-themed item comes in 3.1-ounce theater boxes and three-ounce packs with a SRP range of $1.29 to $1.89, while five-ounce peg bags have a $1.99 to $2.49 SRP range, the company reports. All sizes ship in 12-ct cases and Taste of Nature reports floor displays, clip strips and powerwings are available.
"We're very excited about the launch of MoonPie Bites," says President Scott Samet. "Now people who love MoonPies have another option to choose from when they want an on-the-go or at-home candy treat."
Gluten Free Brownie Chips Hit The Market
Meeting consumer trends for both thin and gluten-free snacks, 1-2-3 Gluten Free introduces Gourmet Brownie Chips in three varieties. The range includes chocolate chip, caramel, and Rainbow, which features candy-coated chocolate drops.
The baked chips are free of wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, corn and sesame, the company reports. In addition, the chocolate chip variety is dairy- and casein-free.
Packing in four-ounce bags with a SRP of $6.99, they ship six per case.
Radz Adds Exclusive Shopkins Flavors
Radz Candy Brands is introducing Shopkins-licensed candy refills in four exclusive flavors tied to characters from the toy property.
The company notes that during the first four months of Shopkins' availability, nearly six million units have already been sold and the property is gaining traction for Christmas 2015.
Tropical Freeze-flavored candies correspond with Snow Crush dispensers, Bubble Yum pieces are tied to the Bubbles character, while Berry Blast relates to Strawberry Kiss and Fruit Swirl corresponds with Lolli Poppins dispensers, according to Radz.
Candy refill packs hold 1.5 ounces of product and have a SRP of 99 cents. They ship in 18-ct counter trays and 12-ct clip strips.
Spanish Cookies Are Organic
Paul and Pippa Biscuits are made in Spain and are USDA certified organic, according to importer The Culinary Collective, which is introducing the line in the U.S.
Made with extra virgin olive oil, organic yeast, spelt flour and other all-natural ingredients, the cookies are free of artificial flavors and colors, the company reports.
Available in chocolate and salt, lime, apple and cinnamon and coconut varieties, they come in 5.2-ounce tins, have a SRP of $7.95 and ship six per case.
